The only ones I know of are the Fender Deluxe Active J-bass, Sire basses, and TRBX504. What are some other good basses that can switch between passive and active that aren't too expensive? I also play heavy metal if that helps. Feb 9, 2019 #2. two fingers Opinionated blowhard.
Just making a ballpark estimate: A battery might have 500 mAh of juice, and a bass might draw 5 mA. At that rate, you've got 100 hours, which would be consistent with plugging it in on Friday and having it peg out by today. 5mA is a LOT of current for a bass, unless there is a short somewhere. Yes, you must unplug the bass, that is the cord from the bass itself, not just the amp. When you insert the jack, that is the “ON” switch for your active bass, it will drain battery up until you remove the cord, or it drains. If you remove the cord all the time, they should last at least 6 month. I have a bass I play every day, it has the
The pickups in this thing are amazing - there are three Dingwall FD3-Ns which offer a punchy, high output. You can get them sounding nice and smooth but also gnarly and aggressive. With an EMG 3-band EQ, active/passive toggle switch and a 4-position Quad-tone pickup selector, you’ve got a huge scope for crafting very different tones. Read
the important point is a passive di usually isn't high enough input impedance for a passive guitar or bass, particularly not the cheap ones, and you'll get some high end rolloff from the increased load on the circuit, whereas even a dirt cheap active has an imput impedance similar to a bass/guitar amp.
Are active basses better than passive ones? What does active even mean? Are the pickups active? Or the rest of the electronics? Well, it depends. Sometimes b
A Fender P or J-bass are great sounding passive basses. (assuming the classic version of each) stupidfatnugly: Yes, if it has a battery, it's active. The main difference between the active and passive inputs on your amp is gain. Passive pickups are quieter, so they need more gain to get the volume up.
Nothing against passive basses, tho I would really miss a blend on a twin pickup passive bass. Two volumes really does not do it for me. I do like the versatility that active tone brings to a bass. My first bass, an Aria SB700 was a one pickup passive bass and I loved it.
